(This Simple Oath requires nothing more than the mentor and the protégé themselves. It may be sworn anywhere, and at any time, but it should be noted that the Ordo Dracul considers Simple Oaths to be binding. It's possible--although not very likely--that one who breaks this oath could be tried in a Juris Draconis.
(The oath itself is only a ceremony marking the solemnity of a mentor taking in a protégé. Even if the mentor and the protégé do not undergo this, it is assumed that both have the responsibilities delineated in the oath. This oath may be tailored to suit individual characters' needs. Unlike an Invictus oath, this oath provides no mechanical benefits.)
Mentor: Kneel before me.
(The protégé does so, and the heel of the mentor's right hand goes on the protégé's forehead.)
Mentor: I swear that I will take you in as my student. I will instruct you in all that I know of (subject). I will fill your ears only with truths, and never will I pass on a single lie. I will monitor you closely; I will watch your progress as though it were my own, and I will take no actions that would precipitate your Fall. Instead I will shield you against it, and fortify you like a castle against your own Beast. I will require nothing less than consistent excellence from you. I will be stringent and harsh, cruel and demanding, for to be any other way would be a disservice to you. And if by some accident you Fall, you will be reduced to ashes by mine own hand.
Protégé: I will learn all that you present to me. I will do everything within my power to understand all that you put forward. What you command, I will perform. You are my master, and in turn I am your servant. Nothing will ever be higher to me than my own studies, which you present to me and exemplify. I do not question, but am led. I will honor you and obey you like my own sire, for it is through you that I will transcend.
Mentor: Thusly are we bound. (The mentor’s removes his hand from the protégé’s head.) Arise, my student.
