Description

The cracked sidewalk in this dilapidated neighborhood hasn’t seen a repair in thirty years. It’s not because of the non-desire, it’s because of the gangs. The gangs run freely and turf wars over this seemingly insignificant corner has been the deadliest in the last twenty-five years.

The chipping and peeling paint of this probably-never glorious home, the spraypainted and boarded up windows and doors, and the conspicuous pair of tennis shoes waving listlessly from the power lines nearby has all the makings of a crack house. The number of squatters and addicts that call this place their pass-out zone is staggering. What’s more staggering, though, is that even with some local pressure (except for when the gangs drive-by the homes of those who pressure) the police has only made two token upholding the peace visits to the place in the past fifteen years. Two.

Criminals and gangmembers come here if they need to get some information, or if they’re addicts themselves, get their next fix. The entire place smells of foul urine, feces and rot – more than a few people have died here and just been haphazardly dumped into the back shed.
